Mrs. Carrie Didier
The school board policy for 4
grade is approx. 50-60 minutes of homework per night. Homework is to be completed independently with parental guidance. Students will be expected to read the story from the reading book over the weekend in order to be prepared for Monday. If a student forgets an assignment, a note will be written in the assignment notebook to inform the parents it needs to be completed.
Students are responsible for bringing it to school every day and for writing their homework down. Please check it every night and sign it. This is the best way for us to communicate on a daily basis and will teach your child to be organized.
Rules and Responsibilities
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Honest (These rules are posted in the classroom and are discussed throughout the year with the students.)
A monthly reading log will be sent home at the beginning of each month. Please initial the log for each night your child reads. The signed reading log must be returned to school at the end of the month to qualify for the reading log incentives program. (The weekly story in the reading book counts!)
If a reading is ever lost or misplaced, I will happily accept a note from home indicating that your child did read each evening!
The class will have a brief snack during the day to keep our energy level going. Recommended snacks are fruits, cheese, crackers, pretzels, veggies, etc. Treats such as candy and chips are not allowed.
Please keep in mind Room 26 is a peanut and tree-nut free classroom.
Scholastic Book Orders
Each month your child will bring home a scholastic book order. I often staple many different orders together to allow you more of a choice when selecting books. If you choose to order, please send the completed book order form to school by the date indicated with one check for the total amount made payable to
There is also an option to order online. This information will come home with each book order.
In accordance with District 118’s student wellness initiative both edible and inedible treats are no longer permitted to help celebrate students’ birthdays. Each student will be recognized in class for his or her special day.
* If your child is planning a party outside of school, please do not bring invitations to pass out at school unless every boy or every girl (respectively) in the class is invited. Invitations to select students can be sent to the child’s home.
