Hello! Welcome to my classroom and fifth grade!
I am a 1984 graduate of Northern Illinois University with a B.S. degree in elementary education. My degree emphasis was in the earth sciences. I received my M.A. degree in curriculum and instruction from National-Louis University in 1995. I have completed an additional 34 semester hours of work in elementary and environmental education, beyond my Masters degree.
I have been happily married for 28 years and have 4 children ages 20, 21, 21 (twins) and 24. My hobbies include meteorology, flight, and gardening. I am a trained Severe Storm Spotter for the National Weather Service and assist Colorado State University with precipitation data collection. I enjoy volunteering in my community.
The 2016-17 school year is the beginning of my 33rd year teaching and my 30th year at Palos West Elementary School. In addition to teaching fifth grade, I am the school’s Computer Club and Earth Day Coordinator.
