Reading and Language Arts
Students should be reading daily to improve reading skills. Independent reading or reading to others is encouraged.
While reading with your child, be sure to stop and check for understanding. Can he/she identify the main idea and include details to support?
During reading, parents and caregivers might model a skill to provide examples of fluency and understanding for the child.
When writing, students are expected to write neatly. Students should try their best with spelling and be sure to include appropriate capitalization and punctuation. Check for accuracy.
