ROOM 18 NEWSLETTER - 4-14-17
This week in Language Arts, our essential question is: What excites us about nature? Our featured genre was poetry, and we read lots of poems! Our comprehension strategy was visualizing. We reviewed similies and learned about homophones (blew and blue) as well.
We began a new STEMscopes science unit on What Plants Need. We began learning about soil and how it is important to plant life.
In math we continued began a new unit on Time and Money. Please help your child review concepts such as change/coins, and telling time on an analog clock.
On Thursday, April 27, we have our Field Trip to see “Born in China” at the AMC Quarry Theater. Please be sure to turn in your permission slip and fee if you have not done so already. Please send a lunch on that day in case we are running late after the movie and have to eat in our classroom.
