Creative Thinking and Expression (Aesthetics)

A      The work reveals a creative approach to the problem, as well as ideas that are developed with intelligence and originality.

B      The work reveals evidence of a search for new ideas and some original solutions to the problem.

C      The work appears fundamentally strong but lacks chance or risk taking in its creative expression.

D     The work does not appear very imaginative but shows attempts of some inventive thought.

F      The work reveals little interest in the project.  It appears mundane, without imagination.


Understanding the Fundamentals of Design (Criticism)

A      The elements and principles of art covered in the unit are utilized as an integral part of the composition and are displayed with expertise.

B      The elements and principles of art are successfully incorporated into the composition.

C      The work demonstrates a basic understanding of the fundamentals of art covered in the unit.

D     The work reveals some understanding of the fundamentals of art covered in the unit.

F      The work displays little understanding of the elements and principles of art         

          covered in the unit and they are poorly utilized in the composition.
