Welcome to Mrs. Hanley's 7th Grade Class!!!

I teach Science and Social Studies on Team 7A.  I began teaching in 1996 at Hickory Creek Middle School, where I taught sixth grade.  I have been at Palos South since 2000. I taught one year of sixth grade here, and the rest have been as a seventh grade teacher.   As a former Palos South student myself, I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Palos South family.  Besides learning the content and skills associated with my classes, it is my goal to help your child become an even more independent and responsible young adult this year.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Governors State University.  I have endorsements in science, social studies and language arts. I also have a Master's Degree in Reading from Governors State University. I believe strongly that reading should be incorporated into all subject areas.  Students should learn and practice reading strategies, which will help them be even more prepared and successful in high school and college.

I love spending my free time with my husband and two daughters, and taking short trips to Redamak's in New Buffalo, Michigan for cheeseburgers. :)

I look forward to an enjoyable school year!
