I am very excited to once again be teaching ALPS at Palos East! This is my twelfth year teaching here, and my fifth year as the ALPS teacher. Before teaching ALPS, I taught first grade for five years and fifth grade for one year. In early 2012, I earned a Master of Education degree in Gifted Education from American Public University. I currently hold an endorsement in the state of Illinois in Gifted Education. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in language arts, science, and Spanish from Benedictine University in 2005, and I received my first Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazarene University in 2008.
Also at Palos East, I teach PETS for first grade, various enrichment classes, Spanish Club and coach the first and second grade Math Olympiad team. Besides teaching, I enjoy reading, vacationing to tropical destinations, and spending time with my family. I am married and have a son and daughter who will be 2 and 3 respectively in December. They are the joy of my life!
