I am also a respiratory therapist and prior to working in District 118, I worked at Little Company of Mary and Palos Community Hospital in that field. Additionally, I have two college age children who attended our district schools. My husband and I live in the district with our dog and cat.

I am so excited to begin a new year with your students!  Check out our website for tips on promoting speech language development as well as links to speech/language related web sites.

Hello!

My name is Bridget Boam and I am thrilled to be starting my first year in District 118 at Palos West Elementary for the 2016-2017 school year!  I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech-language pathology from Illinois State University…go redbirds! I come to the district with over eight years of experience working with various speech, language, and swallowing disorders in preschool-age children through the geriatric population.  I have also worked for Autism Home Support Services, providing in-home ABA therapy for individuals with autism.  In my previous school district, I had the amazing experience of creating and piloting a specialized program housed in-district for students with autism from preschool through junior high.  I maintain my Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

I currently reside in Darien with my husband who works as a physical education teacher in district 117, 4 ½ year-old daughter, and 8 month-old son.  I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming, and running.

I am looking forward to a great year working with the students, staff, and families of Palos West!
Please feel free to contact me via email at or 708-761-3859.
