CLASSROOM RULES, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES:

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

  • There are 3 very simple rules to follow in my class to succeed:

  1. Be Responsible
  2. Be Respectful
  3. Be Safe

DISCIPLINE:

  1. Verbal Warning
  2. After-class or before-lunch discussion with teacher/Lunch detention
  3. Phone call home
  4. Detention
  5. Office Referral

REWARDS:

  1. Cardinal Cash/Super Cardinal
  2. Positive phone call or note home

HOMEWORK POLICY:

  • The following policy regarding homework is of the 6B team teachers:
  • 1st day late = ½ credit
  • 2nd date late = 0 credit

OOPS PASSES:

  • Ex: Oops I forgot my homework or Oops I forgot supplies in my locker
  • 2 passes for 1st quarter for ALL Core classes
  • 2 passes for 2nd quarter for ALL Core classes
  • 2 passes for 3rd quarter for ALL Core classes
  • 0 passes for 4th quarter for ALL classes

(My advice: ALWAYS do your homework for EVERY class & ALWAYS bring your supplies for EVERY class.  If you run out of passes, you will need to take a tardy or receive late credit on the assignment.)

TARDY POLICY:

  • You will be considered tardy if you are not at least inside the classroom by the time the bell rings.
    • 3 tardies = morning or after-school detention
    • Tardies are cleared after each quarter

(My advice: Get to class on time!)

ABSENT WORK:

  • If you are going to be absent from school due to illness, it is highly recommended that your parent/guardian(s) call the school (708-448-5971) and request your homework to be brought down to the office to be picked up at the end of the school day.
  • It is your responsibility to find out what missing work you are required to make up if a homework request is not issued.  Homework assignments will be posted daily on the Team 6B calendar via the Palos South website.
  • For each day you are out, you will have that many days to make up your work (i.e. 1 day = 1 day to make up work, 2 days = 2 days to make up work, etc.)
  • If you know you are going to be out for reasons such as a doctor’s appointment, vacation, death in the family, etc. please let me know ahead of time so I can prepare the make-up work for you to take while you are out of the class.
